March 8 – A Human Trafficking Awareness Forum

Theta Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is taking the lead in making Human Trafficking a priority in its Social Justice program initiative.

A Human Trafficking Awareness Forum
Human trafficking is a crime that often goes under reported due to its covert nature, various misconceptions about its definition, and lack of awareness about its indicators on the local level. Trafficking is a lucrative industry, representing an estimated $32 billion per year in international trade. For society it means an insurmountable road block to the creative and productive potential of America’s greatest asset- our youth.
Our major goal is to bring awareness, community commitment and action to counter human trafficking in partnership with different stakeholders, including governments and organizations as well as elements of a civil society and the media.
