February 13- Men Standing Against Trafficking

This month, let’s take back what Valentines Day should represent…lets honor the legacy of President Lincoln and his fight against slavery – let’s stand as MEN and women who have men they love – against the sexual exploitation of girls and boys, men and women – and for the love that God envisioned us to bring into this amazing world we share!

These STANDS are just the beginning of what we must bring to the fight against human trafficking.

There are women out there who need to know that men are out there taking a stand for them.
Let’s drop a stone in the waters of what has become normalized treatment of others as objects to satisfy lust and domination – and cause a tsunami sized ripple that topples the sexual exploitation industry!
Please join us in body or spirit this February 13th – between Lincoln’s Birthday and Valentine’s day to say no to slavery and YES to what love should be.

January 21- Men Standing Against Trafficking

Human Trafficking is happening here in our own backyards.  As the men of Southern California, we’re not willing to let it continue.  Stand up for the voiceless.  Stand against the abusers. Stand together as protectors of the innocent. Stand. It’s that simple. We meet quarterly at trafficking hotspots across our region.

Wear a white shirt and jeans to demonstrate your solidarity. While we prefer advance RSVP’s for planning purposes, you are welcome to just show up on the night as well, if you are able. Event t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event. This is a free event.

January 28- Third Annual Pray for Freedom

prayforfreedom

Join the Global Center for Women and Justice in collaboration with Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAAST) for the third annual Pray for Freedom.

Our communities will gather to pray for freedom for victims of labor and sex trafficking. Partner organizations and community leaders will open the prayer with a worldwide prayer for wisdom, resources, and divine intervention to free captives.

Partner organizations and community leaders will pray for the unique issues of widows, single mothers, refugees, foster kids, immigrants and vulnerable communities because of poverty, gender discrimination, conflict, and violence. The final focus is reducing demand driven by greed, pornography, and violence. The call to action will challenge attendees to recognize victims, understand how we can serve, and engage the local church community in practical responses that make a difference.

January 28, 2017 from 3-5pm PST

January 28 – Freedom Now Fair

freedom-nowfair

Most everyone will agree that we love our San Diego. But in speaking of our community, there must come the acknowledgement that there is a terrible phenomenon taking place both here and across the country. It’s a phenomenon that many are completely unaware of. Even more disturbing is that there are those who are very much aware of it, are profiting from it and/or are indulging in it. The worst part of all of this is that little girls, little boys, women and men are being enslaved and brutalized by it EVERY DAY. Through force, fraud and/or coercion…these human beings are victims of the crime known as HUMAN TRAFFICKING, and San Diego is one of the top 7 cities in America where this is happening.

There is a need to bring the topic of human trafficking down to street level, so that more people are aware of this critical issue facing our society today and that is taking place in our own back yards. In order to help eliminate this tragic injustice, there is a need to change the way the public thinks about this issue as well as a need to empower them with the education and resources in order to become an ally in this mission. With  these things in mind, we are very excited to announce that the Survivor Leader Network of San Diego is moving forward with our 2nd Annual “Freedom NOW Fair” on January 28rd, 2017…WE HAVE MORE WORK TO DO!!!
